How to use JSON to CSV
Turn a JSON array of objects into a CSV file you can open in Excel, Google Sheets or any database import tool. Each object becomes one row.
- Paste a JSON array, or drop a .json file.
- Turn on array flattening if you want array items split into their own columns.
- Select Convert, then copy the CSV or download it.
Questions
- What JSON shape does it accept?
- A top-level array, usually of objects such as [{"name": "Ada"}, {"name": "Lin"}]. A single object must be wrapped in an array first.
- How are nested objects handled?
- Nested keys are flattened into dot-notation columns, so {"address": {"city": "Pune"}} becomes an address.city column.
- What if objects have different keys?
- Every key found in any object becomes a column. Rows missing a key get an empty cell.
- How are arrays inside objects written?
- Lists of plain values are joined with commas in one cell. Turn on flattening to give each array item its own indexed column instead.
- Is my data uploaded to a server?
- No. The conversion runs in your browser with JavaScript, so your files and text stay on your device.
